If you are new to the vaping experience, finding the right flavor to start with can sometimes be a tedious task. Since the vaping industry began, hundreds upon hundreds of vape juice flavors have been added to the available list. For beginners, starting with simple flavors that are not too complex would be ideal to avoid being overwhelmed with vape juice with more than two or three flavors.
Picking the right PG/VG ratio for some vape juice flavors will be beneficial. There is a difference between how much PG and VG, which are propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin respectively, that someone uses. For more of a throat hit and less vapor to avoid so many clouds, going to the more PG side will be your best option. For a smoother hit and bigger clouds, going for more VG would be the better choice.
For beginners, try starting with a PG/VG ratio of 60/40 or 50/50. Those two options are standard, and it will make it easier for someone to figure out if they need to add more PG or more VG in future orders. Vape juice with 100% PG will give the most throat hit. If someone wants a little bit less of a throat hit but still have an impact along with a little smoothness, a PG/VG ratio of 70/30 would be recommended. For medium throat hits and an average amount of vapor, having a 60/40 or 50/50 ratio of PG to VG would be recommended and like mentioned above, a good starting point. For a smoother hit, big clouds and not too much throat hit, a PG/VG ratio of 30/70 would be best. If someone desires the most vapor possible with larger clouds, getting the max VG offered is most logical. Achieving 100% is virtually impossible due to the fact vape juice flavor comes in PG form. Usually, a ratio of 85/15 or sometimes 90/10 is the highest VG will go in most vape juice stores unless unflavored vape juice is ordered, which then it would be possible to reach 100% VG.
Unlike PG, the VG part of E-cig juice has a thick consistency like a syrup and will not cause any allergic reactions. The term VG stands for vegetable glycerin. This thick liquid is also colorless and odorless like propylene glycol. It is classified as a polyol compound that is simple, and the backbone will be found in triglycerides, which are lipids. These triglycerides can be obtained in animal and plant sources. The food industry widely this product as humectants, sweeteners, and is also used in some pharmaceutical formulations. The three hydroxyl groups that are found in vegetable glycerin makes it capable of dissolving in water and gives it a hygroscopic nature.
The nicotine in vape juice can make somewhat of a difference in the flavor, depending on the strength that someone orders. Beginners that were former smokers will usually start with a medium nicotine level of 16 mg to 18 mg, or 1.6% to 1.8% if they are vaping with a standard e-cig pen. Like what people do with PG/VG ratios, the nicotine strength will be adjusted to fit their needs best. Typically a lower nicotine level, around a 4 mg or 6 mg, will be better for the mods or RDA's some people use since they tend to pull more nicotine per inhale than an e-cig pen would. If someone were a HEAVY former smoker, which would be around two or three packs a day, a nicotine strength of 24 mg would be a good starting amount for the standard e-cig pen or 10 mg for an RDA or mod.
The Slim's E-Juice store will have plenty of flavors for beginners to start. Beyond the candy flavored vape juice will be other sweet tasting vape juice like pastries, etc. Some of the good vape juice options for beginners in this category include Apple Pie, Cinnamon Roll, English Toffee, French Vanilla, Fruit Circles, Honeysuckle, Marshmallow, Pralines and Cream, Salted Caramel, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Vanilla Swirl, and Whipped Cream.
There is also a list of random vape juice flavors that would be fantastic for beginners. Some of these best beginning vape juices will include Butterscotch Ripple, Cinnamon Danish, Graham Cracker, Kettle Corn, Pirate Cereal Type, Spearmint, and Toasted Almond.
While searching for that first vape juice flavor to try, remember to take into consideration your nicotine level and PG/VG ratios as they will affect the vape juice you select. Also note that hot or icy type flavors, like Cinnamon Candy and Extreme Ice, will have more of a throat hit than other flavors due to their intensity, so unless you want a massive throat hit, adjust your PG/VG ratio accordingly.
